Metzeler Motorcycle Tires.
Metzeler has a rich History starting in 1863 when Robert Metzeler first started the company in Munich Germany. Metzeler originally did not start as a tire company but as a manufacturer of surgical equipment, and sports equipment. This company did not start working on tire production until 1890. At which time this company was deeply involved in the tire development for the bicycle, motorcycle and the car. Metzeler set an impressive achievement in 1933 by being the first company to make a useful tire out of synthetic rubber called “buna”. In 1937 Metzeler set the world speed record for motorcycles at 279.5 km/h. Then in World War II the Metzeler factory was completely destroyed and rebuilt immediately. In 74 they produced the first low profile tire and in 78 this tire manufacturer produced the first tubeless tire in Europe. In 1979 Metzler changed its focus to only motorcycle tires and has been producing high quality motorcycle tires ever since.
