Motorcycle Jeans Let You Ride In Style!

Motorcycle Jeans By IconGone are the days where you had to wear motorcycle pants made from leather in order to get some protection. Now you can actually get riding pants made from jean materials. Well actually a Kevlar mesh that looks like jeans! Kevlar is that same material bullet proof vests are made from. Now don't start thinking motorcycle jeans with Kevlar will stop bullets because they won’t.

However Kevlar has great abrasion resistance and is therefore the perfect material to use and reinforce a pair of jeans made for motorcycle riding. Most of these riding pants are made from a combination of heavy denim which is reinforced with Kevlar as well as the seams being stitched with a Kevlar string to help keep things together in case of a crash. Some of these jeans also have knee sliders and several sensitive areas that are padded for added protection.

Icon motorcycle riding jeans are some of the more popular brands to riders today. Icon jeans are made from 14 ounce denim which is thicker than the denim you would find on Levis 50s for example. the jeans have Kevlar reinforced panels in the hips and knees which are a likely contact point if you happen to meet the road on unfavorable terms. These jeans will tend to feel like heavy work jeans that are quite comfortable. Maybe they fit a little odd but once you get on the bike you will find them exceptionally comfortable. Also available with these are optional shin and knee guards which can give you extra protection as well.

So now there is a choice between having to wear leather motorcycle pants or ones made from jeans. The leather type will give you a lot of protection but they are not as comfortable and therefore don't tend to get worn all the time. A good pair of motorcycle jeans on the other hand can look stylish be comfortable and still give you protection.

So as hard as it is to beat cowhide for an extra layer of skin this type of riding gear is made to be more comfortable as well as giving you the protection you need. You will find motorcycle leather riding pants do not breathe well and if you are in a hot climate you will feel yourself roasting alive on hot days out riding. Now there are some of the leather riding pants that are vented in order to help with this some but nothing like wearing a comfortable pair for jeans.

So next time it’s time to decide on some riding gear and you have the option think of giving a set of motorcycle jeans a try!
