Nolan Motorcycle Helmets.
Nolan motorcycle helmets came in to being in the early 70's. Nolan is always working to develop more technologically advanced motorcycle helmets. Nolan has its own testing facility and research lab that has been approved by the Italian ministry of transport in which they test out their helmets. Every component that goes in to a Nolan helmet is thoroughly tested. Nolan prides itself in staying in touch wiht the racing community by working closely with world class racers to stay at the forefront of race design. They also sponsor many up and coming motorcycle racers in the 125cc to the Moto GP class. Nolan wants to be the first helmet worn by any motorcycle enthusiast from the beginning of their riding. The outer shell of most Nolan motorcycle helmets is made from a injection molded General Electric polycarbonate Lexan® EXL. This shell provides superior performance to most other plastic shells. The inner shell of most Nolan motorcycle helmets is made with injection molded with foam polystyrene which provides excellent shock absorption. The inner padding on Nolan Helmets is made by X-Lite. this padding is tested in various extreme conditions to assure its comfort and breathability. The materials used are hypoallergenic. The retention system on a motorcycle helmet is an important part of its safety. Nolan uses bands, hangers, rivets, in their fastening system. Select suppliers are chosen by Nolan to supply these items. These suppliers are hand picked for their standards in testing. Nolan also retests these components. In-house checks include a fastening system duration test (opening/closing cycles), both static and dynamic mechanical resistance tests, and wear tests. All such tests are made in addition to the customary tests required by international homologation standards. Nolan motorcycle helmets are currently sold in over 70 countries world wide. There are several models of Nolan helmets available in cluding the Flip up helmet which is a full face helmet with the ability to just flip up the whole bottom section of the helmet rather then just the visor. This makes it a bit more convenient for the rider. Certain things that you could not do with a full face helmet by flipping up the visor you can do with a flip up helmet. A vision protection system is now available on Nolan X- Lite1002 Modular helmets. This is an extra tinted shield that goes on top of your regular visor. This tinted piece can be flipped up at night or when not needed and flipped down to help prevent sun glare. It covers the upper half of you face shield. A great idea which makes having to change out face shields a thing of the past. Also no need to worry that you will get caught in the dark with a tinted visor when the sun goes down. This system has been tested at speeds of 200 kmh+ for stability. When you are looking for a great motorcycle helmet Nolan helmets definetly should be considered. This company works very hard to be an innovator in the motorcycle helmet industry.
